Depression Assessment
Why You Should Take This Assessment
It is normal to feel "down in the dumps" on occasion, but people with major depression feel significantly sad for a
prolonged period of time and have difficulty enjoying acts once found pleasurable. Depression is a mood disorder in which
feelings of loss, anger, sadness, or frustration interfere with your everyday life. Depression can be classified as mild,
moderate, or severe. It can occur one time or several times or it can be ongoing (lasting more than 2 years).
As many as 17 million Americans are affected by this mood disorder each year. Take the following assessment to see if you
may be at risk for depression.
Please note that this assessment cannot make a diagnosis, nor can it be a substitute for a thorough evaluation by your
doctor or other healthcare provider. The assessment can only give you a sense of whether depression may be possible,
based on how you answer the questions.
